I know what the drop setting does on back up but due to my limnited knowledge of MSql I am not sure whether to include this setting in backup copies or not.

Should one add drop syntax or not ? I would have thought yes.. as this should make the restore more robust but I would be grateful for advice.

Hi there! The drop syntax is used when importing, when creating each table in the database if the drop syntax is used, then it will first delete the previous table data on that database and then insert the new data!

So the drop syntax is only usefull if you plan to make a restore over a non-empty database, however i do not recommend the use of it because we had cases where instead of using a new database, users would use the same database as original deleting original data and importing the backup one!
