I am about to migrate my Joomla website. I am buying
a package that requires me to buy a MySQL database.
Should I give this database the same name and password as the one on my old site or will it get overwritten by the old from my old site migrating
in? Do I even need to buy one considering that my
clone will come with one already in place?

Hi there! The mysql details can be different, when restoring JoomlaCloner will update the mysql details to reflect the new ones!
If your hosting service does not provide you with at least one MYSQL database you won't be able to install Joomla and so make a restore, so unless you already have one database you will be required to purchase that option also! If you already have it, then it should be ok, you can use the same database for when importing the clone!
