Hi, I've looked at Joomla Cloner in the past, and have a website that needs to be backed up so that it can be restored locally, as well as vice versa (for development). I have used PHP scripts in the past that backup my website, as well as any MySQL databases, and FTP them to my local FTP server at home. The problem I've had restoring, comes into differences in PHP version. My webhost uses 4.4 and my local WAMP installation is 5. Does your component import regardless of the different versions?
Also, I have more than one site, however all sites are on the same account. For instance, company.com is my main domain, however, I have "add-on domains" hosted by the same account, and all the files are subdirectories. So company2.com is inside the structure like /home/user/public_html/company2, with a pointer for http://www.company2.com to that subdir. Would I need two registered copies of this component, one for each domain, http://www.company.com and a separate one for http://www.company2.com, or can I get away with a single instance copy? I did notice that it is capable of backing up any of the MySQL databases it finds in my single account, but it seems to only backup files from the root of that domain. If that's the case, would I rather get a copy registered to http://www.company.com so that it just gets everything?
