Hi, when I tried generating backup at my localhost joomla, I receive this error.
Backup failed! Please check that you have support for the zip utility(/usr/bin/zip or /usr/local/bin/zip) on your server and the path you set it's corect in Configuration, or choose the Tar archive type!
Of cos same error appears if I choose the Tar archive type. How can I add support for these archive type at my localhost server?
And jus to clarify things. When cloning from localhost to livesite, as long as I dun check the "Drop Syntax", existing new data (i.e. new forum posts at livesite) will still remains there right?

Hi there! To fix that error, you need to go in the JoomlaCloner Configuration screen and uncheck the 'Active' checkboxes you see there near the zip/tar and mysqldump lines, then generate the backup again!
If you select that option "Add drop syntax", when importing on the live site, the existing data will be replaced with the one from the backup! Second, if you don't do this and you try to import over an existing database data, you will get mysql errors and you might get duplicates!
I would advise that you create and use for restore another database different from the one running on livesite!
