Help Me Understand cron

OK, I'm certain that it is my lack of understanding that is causing my confusion here. I've had JoomlCloner working great for several months, manually creating backups, even cloning my site to another computer for development work.

I now want to set things up so that the system runs an automated backup each night. I assumed that cron would let me do that. But I can't seem to find where I create or set a schedule. I can go into my browser and enter the URL to cloner.cron.php and JoomlaCloner immediately creates a backup for me. But how do I schedule this action?

My webserver is Windows Server 2003 (don't hold that against me  ) with XAMPP.

Do I just use the Windows Scheduler or am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi there! To automatically run the backup you need access to a third party software like a cron manager or even windows scheduler as you specified! You just need to setup the cron manager to call your JoomlaCloner cron link, and also setup the time interval it will run at!

Hope it helps! Ovidiu
