I want to move my existing joomla based website to a new domain name.

I have created the backup on my old domain name.

Ive gone into restore backup and selected clone button.

Ive entered the website URL of my new domain name
and hostname , usernaem, password and directory of current website.

Its successfull untill i click on the link to move onto the next stage.

All i get is a 404 error page.

can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong???

thanks

I think the url which you provided doesn't have the http:// in front, try to include the full url to the cloning address next time! For now, try to go directly to your new location, http://mysite.com/Jo.....Cloner.php

So what i have done is correct (appart from missing the http out).

- give the location of the new site

- and give the ftp, username and password of the existing site?
