After clone problem installing extensions

I have successfully cloned a Joomla 1.5 website to a new account with the same provider and now I cannot install any new Joomla extensions or templates. I get the following error

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Warning! - Failed to move file

The permissions on the directory are 755.

The functionality of Joomla in the cloned instance works (add articles, etc.) The only thing that doesn't work is installing extensions and templates.

I installed a new instance of Joomla 1.5 on the same server and I can install extensions in that instance.

Any suggestions?

Hi there! If you have setup your original Joomla site to install extensions through the ftp mode, then you will need to update the new site ftp config details and retry again(Joomla backend-> Global Configuration area)!

If that doesn't work, you should make sure that safe_mode is Off and that all directories are fully writeabke!

Let me know if you have further issues! Ovidiu

ftp settings are the same on both sites.

All folders are writeable (755).

Safe mode is Off.

Still can't install extensions or templates.

Same error message:
JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Warning! - Failed to move file

Any other suggestions?

I am having exactly the same problem.

I have tried installing the template to my original installation and it works fine, but my restored installation is reporting the error.

If you have found a solution for this please let me know, otherwise I am happy for you to take a look at the install and let me know...

tmp location is correct
