Using cloner to change Joomla root

I'm very impressed with the cloner component.
I particularly like its potential to "clone" installations onto my clients servers.

Is it possible to use cloner to move my installation to the root of my website? In other words, could I backup my joomla installation, components and all (currently in mywebsite/joomla), delete the original installation, and then move the clone into the root (thus, eliminating the "joomla" folder). I installed it into the joomla subfolder before I realized how difficult it would be to move.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi there!

Yes, JoomlaCloner will help you move your current Joomla site to anywhere else including the parent root directory!
Considering that you are using the same server, i presume you could use the same database details with the old site, so all you have to restore are the files(on the restore screen you will find a checkbox that asks you if you want to import the database or only files)!

Let me know if you have further questions, i would be happy to assist you!

Regards! Ovidiu
