I am not actually changing hosts, but just my domain name. I have decided this because I dont like my old one that much. With that said, I am assuming that once I do make the order to have the primary domain on my hosting account switched over, that my joomla site will not work anymore, as the domain name will be different. Do I need this component to do what I am trying to do? Or can I just change the domain which my site will reside on within joomla config somewhere???
I will also be wanting a backup solution in the near future as well, but I am just curious if I need this component to do what I am trying to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! If you only plan to change then domain name(and not also the site location), then updating your $mosConfig_live_site variable from the configuration.php should do the trick, however if you used hardlinks in your menus you will need to update them also!
I don't think you would need to make a full backup and restore just for a domain change, however i advise to always have a backup of your site!
