we get tp 59%. Havconfig set to .zip, our server doesnt support tar/zip install so am doing manual, and have unchecked both of the active boxes at the boottom of the screen. Had the type set to .zip, just changed to tar to see if that works. Seems to be going much faster...we'll see

Can I just backup the db and then manually ftp the rest down?

Hi there! Yes, changing the backup type to TAR will definitely help in speed, also for timeouts setting the 'Manual backup' option to Yes is the right setting!

And yes, you can also create a database only backup, move the files through ftp and then use JoomlaCloner to restore that database backup only, as specified move the backup and restore script to your new Joomla site and launch Joomla.Cloner.php(restore script) in your browser!
