Hi,
I just created a backup from my website and tried to restore it on my local machine.Everything went fine without any error but when I am trying to access the website on my localhost, i I got the following error:
Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

I have also deleted the htaccess file but still I got the same error.
I am using Xampp on my machine to run joomla.

Hi there! The error can only be generated by a .htaccess code error or a memory_limit issue!
You can check your server error log for a more detailed description of the error, i also suggest meantime to recheck the .htaccess delete and to try and increase the server php.ini memory_limit variable to a larger value like 64M(also restart the server after this change)
Let me know if you have anymore issues, and if so please paste here the error message you see in your server error log!
