error overwriting old database

Hi,

When I attempt a clone where I am updating an existing site with a new version, the database update produces a stream of errors and the new content is not completely written, evidently because of the existence of old database items with the same names. So, it appears that I must manually delete the old database contents completely before I attempt the clone.

Is there a clone option that I am missing that would simply let me update the database with the new content, rather than delete the old database, create it (empty) and then do the clone?

Hi there! Yes, there is an option called "Add DROP syntax" in the JoomlaCloner component->Generate Backup screen->Database option tab! You need to check that option, recreate the backup and restore it again in order to replace any existing database content on the new host!

Regards, Ovidiu
