Thank you for this awesome component. After following exactly the sequence for cloning onto a new server I have had great success. For a while I thought it was not going to work but I have no doubts this works very well.
One serious issue I was facing was the generated backup file was not completely copied to the server and I missed seeing this until I compared the file sizes. At the time it would only copy the "library" folder and stop.
I have no limit on the FTP restriction with my host, but it continually was only copying about 10% of the files. I uploaded the file directly from my local machine and then the cloner.php worked perfectly.
DO YOU know why it would do this???
Another thing I would like to point out is that the cloner backup generator uses the old sites username and passwords and directory structure which will not work on the new server. It would be nice if those things were more automatic. Is there any plan for that?
Thanks for a great software.

Have you tried transferring the backup by checking the "incremental ftp transfer" option at the bottom of that transfer form?
As for the user and directory structure, could you be more specific on how it should work? JoomlaCloner will create an exact copy of your original site since that is the purpose of the whole process

Ovidiu,
Thank you. I was always using the incremental transfer. I don't know why my server disallowed the full tar file from the joomlacloner. I saw it work before, just this time it was faulty.
I understand "exact copy" but the directory has to be changed to the new server /home/yourdomain/public_html in the joomlacloner configuration area so you can generate a back-up there. Is this the case?
Thanks for all your help.
