Hi,

I have bought your great JoomlaCloner software last night in order to make an urgent backup of one of mine sites and to restore it to a localhost development computer.

The backup process was ok and get me with a backup.ZIP file i restored to a localhost pc. No problem. Now i have a clone of my site running on a localhost but the site is not browsable. i had a .htaccess file at root directory i needed to remove in order to have this work.

On my clone I can connect to the backend, edit and view articles, it works fine. But when i browse the frontend i can only have the frontpage, articles seems to be there as i can see titles, but when i clic on one article i get the following error message: Object not found - Error 404.

On my localhost i run xampplite under WindowsXP with the following software Apache/2.2.3 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.3 OpenSSL/0.9.8d mod_autoindex_color PHP/5.1.6

on clone backend all relevant PHP settings are ok:
Joomla! Register Globals Emulation: OFF
Register Globals: OFF
Magic Quotes: ON
Safe Mode: OFF
File Uploads: ON
Session auto start: OFF
Session save path: \xampplite\tmp
Short Open Tags: ON
Output Buffering: OFF
Open basedir: none
Display Errors: ON
XML enabled: Yes
Zlib enabled: Yes
Disabled Functions: none

My team is in a process with urgent work i hope you can help so we can have our development server running as soon as possible.

Thank you very much for your great work.

Best Regards.

Hi there!

Do you have SEF urls enabled on your localhost? If so, the problem might be that your Apache server does not support mod_rewrite, so i would suggest you either enable it if possible in your httpd.conf, http://httpd.apache......write.html , or disable the Joomla SEF option from the backend Global Configuration, and enable it back when you transfer the site to the live server!

Let me know if you still have problems!

Ovidiu
