Should I use the Drop Syntax?

I am very very uneducated when it comes to code and database stuff when it comes to Joomla! I am ok with design and integration but all of this back up stuff really confuses me and worries me that I may not be doing things right and therefore not have a viable backup for my site.

I am looking to simply make a daily backup copy of my site that I could use at any given time to restore my site if something crashed.

So knowing this- should I turn the drop syntax on? Or no?

Hi there! The drop syntax means that on restore, you will be able to replace any existing mysql data from your restore database without the need to manually empty it

Hope it helps! Ovidiu
