I was trying to generate a backup on my localhost using mozilla, and after a long wait, it generated a file 100times bigger than expected, and is corrupted. I tried again using IE7 and it generates a proper backup. Not like it really matters, but jus wondering why.

Do you have any idea why this is happening in mozila?

Try clearing your browser cache, have you tried to generate a new backup using the Mozilla browser after generating the IE one? Maybe there were some cache files included!

Try and set the 'Manual backup' option to Yes in JoomlaCloner Configuration and see how that goes!
