A client asked me if the zip file can be used to restore her install without using the JCloner process - basically unzip and manually upload the files to thier site. This of course assumes an manual restore of the database with the identical name as the saved version.

What are the pitfalls of this if I just give them the zip file and a backup of thier database?

Hi there! Yes, the zip file contains usually all the files from the original host, so by extracting those files manually, importing the database and updating the Joomla configuration would make the restore succesfull!
