I just purchased and intalled JoomlaCloner today and then everytime I try to run backup one of the following results shows:
1) Backup failed! Please check that you have support for the tar utility(/usr/bin/tar or /usr/local/bin/tar) on your server and the path you set it's corect in Configuration, or choose the Zip archive type!
2) Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

then when I check the backup view I see the backup files are there but with different sizes.
I try this with two different sites and they are at the same server but the same problem. I'm using Godaddy hosting and php safe mode is off.

Hi there! The first error means that you don't support tar utility or the path is incorect, have you tried the zip server utility? Just change the backup type in Config!
Anyway if that doesn't work, you need to uncheck the Active checkbox near tar/zip line in Configuration area!
Second, you need to increase your memory_limit and max_execution_time from your php.ini as indicated here http://www.joomlaplu.....Itemid,56/
