hi there

so we were with Godaddy (but we moved to a new host)

when i try to clone a site heres whats happening now

1. backup of local host dev site
2. set parameters for clone of site
3. click the link to continue
4 site shows 500 error

in the ftp directory of the folder specified i see two files, one is a backup date .. yada on it
the other is a file called joomla.cloner.php

any suggestions or ideas why i cant call this file by clicking a link?

thanks again

(I can provide screenshots if necessary!

This could be related to a permission issue, try and apply 755 permissions upon the new restore folder then try again!

If you still have problems, open a support ticket and send us your restore location ftp+mysql details to check the issue!

best we can tell it was some permissions error the host fixed,

one small question though

after we execute the backup/restore

a directory appears in the ftp as archive_tmp

and the page says starting transfer

how will we know when this is done?

thanks a bunch

i actually checked the archive_tmp folder and it had all the files in it, i shouldnt have , but i moved them to the root of the install, when i tried to view the site i got a strange error

i am retrying the joomlacloner backup/restore now

also the DB i created on the live server was empty

thanks

i think i found the issue

JOOMLACLONER IS NOT importing the DB it backed up

therefore we have a folder full of great looking files without a DB to reference from

thoughts?

just updating

the db was actually populated what is really the problem is below

i pulled this from the BOTTOM of the configuration.php AFTER your component claimed to restore everything

?>

the FULL CONFIGURATION.PHP is attached
for YOUR requirements it is renamed with a txt extension

as you can clearly see it DID NOT change the paths properly

(FYI: we dont care if people have that information about our site, if we cant access the site after joomlacloner FUBARS it they sure as hell wont be able to!

NO thank you for an amazing component

still got one last ? though

when we restore what is the best way

we were figuring for LARGE DB the best is the ftp option, and for smaller db do the direct option

do you have any preferences/opinions

thanks again!
