Hello,
Please forgive me if I did not see this posted elsewhere, I did search for backup FTP problems.
I am using a cron job to back up my site and then remote FTP to another server location.
The cron job is executing and the backup is being made, but the problem is the remote FTP process. I did not see a video or documentaion on this aspect.
Here is my error, if you can take a look, I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Aspen
Error:
<b>Starting JoomlaCloner for site http://www.mysite.co.....><br /><b>Creating a fullbackup</b><br /><b>Generating Backup ...</b><br /><b>Backup Done</b><br /><b>Backup file: /home/user/public_html/backup//mysite.zip</b><br /><b>Starting ftp transfer:</b><br /><br />
<b>Warning</b>: ftp_connect() [<a href='function.ftp-connect'>function.ftp-connect</a>]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in <b>/home/user/public_html/administrator/components/com_cloner/cloner.cron.php</b> on line <b>106</b><br /> Could not connect to the ftp server http://ftp.myremoteserver.com

I was wondering if the syntax for the remote server is not right. I've tried:
http://ftp.myremoteserver.com
http://ftp.myremoteserver.com
and
http://IP Addresss
I'm thinking this is not the problem.
The other thing might be the permissions on cloner.cron.php. Should it be 777? It's currently 755.
Thanks,
A.

Hey there! Well the problem is the ftp address you are trying, "http://ftp.myremotes....." is not a valid network address, instead you should use http://ftp.myremoteserver.com!
Also try first to create a clone and move it manually through ftp, from the View bacups screen, select a clone and click the move or clone button!
Let me know if you still have problems!
