It is still my understanding that XCloner can be used as a standalone application for use on non-Joomla websites.

Are there any instructions anywhere that say how?

Hi there! Yes, it can be used as standalone application! Simply extract the package archive on your new site and access that location directly in your browser, the rest is the same as on a Joomla install

Done that, but which file needs accessing, as just visiting the folder through the browser adress bar yields nothing
