hi
hope someonecan shed light on this... mr ovidu ... perhaps you have time to advise
i have a domain and subdomains a and b say.... a is my dev subdomain.... i test happy deploy into b subdomain ... production
that is the plan...
so backed up a ... made sure directories in b were all empty copies tar xcloner.php and backup into b using ftp
executed xcloner.php and restore progressed BUT SKIPPED DB IMPORT ... ONT KNOW WHY
ran b/wp-admin and knoticed login switched to a login
added content to b changed custom menu to use new content ... fine... works
but the site refers to a subdomain not b.... why
see this for yourself
a is one.etube.online
b is l01.etube.online

in fact some more information... every time i log into the newly restored site the login redirects to the original site
so now i can never admin the restored/cloned site it always redirects me to the original site i backed up
PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi George, first please try and check if the db restored ok, if not, you might need to restore it using phpmyadmin
Second, please check your wp-config.php , is it updated with the new site details?
Thirdly, please try and disable all plugins by renaming the plugins/ folder to a temporary name and see if you are able to login

thanks for the tips..
database seems fine I have used phpmyadmin to login ok stats look fine
wp-admin is wrong it has the original db name db user .. the password is encoded but I always use the same one... I edited this to the new db and when I tried to log into wp it said I couldn't login... odd

sincere apologies...completely my fault
lessons learnt
1. make sure your target site is completely empty except for tar backup and xcloner script
2. make sure you do not use a database previously used ... create a brand new one and user
3. ensure when you fill out the script ensure that the options you select are green lit... NOT TOGGLED OFF
