Hi sorry but I am still having trouble entering the back up start path and back up store path. I am using the Xcloner plugin on Wordpress and I have so far put in under the back up start path:
/home/thenameofmywebsite/public_html/wp-content
and under the back up store path:
/home/thenameofmysite/public_html/wp-content/administrator/backups
To "create a directory" which I have no idea how to do (!) I went into filezilla and added a folder under the 'wp-content' folder named 'administrator' and then added a folder to that folder called 'backups'... is that right?
Xcloner is saying that the back up store path is unwriteable (how do i make it writeable?) and that the temporary folder is incorrect or unreadable. The back up start path is automatically saved as simply '/' by Xcloner.
I would really appreciate any help, as I really have no idea how any of this works so you will have to dumb down any explanations.
Thanks again.

HI there! Considering you want to backup your whole wordpress setup, here is what i suggest:
1. create this directory and make it writeable: /home/thenameofmywebsite/public_html/administrator/backups
2. set your Backup Start path to: /home/thenameofmywebsite/public_html
3. set your Backup Store path to: /home/thenameofmywebsite/public_html/administrator/backups
Hope it helps! Ovidiu

Thank you for your quick response.
It is still not working however. I am not sure that I am correctly "creating a directory" as all I have done is using Filezilla I have added a new folder called "administrator" and within that folder I have created a sub folder called "backups".
I have entered the back up start path to: /home/websitename/public_html
and the store path to : /home/wesbitename/public_html/administrator/backups
It is still saying that it is unwriteable and unreadable marked in red... I'm sure I am missing something simple.

It's ok I seem to have worked it out! I used the pluggin file commander to see what the file I had created was called, and it was apparently:/home/content/38/7537738/html
I therefore wrote the back up start path as /home/content/38/7537738/html
and the back up store path as /home/content/38/7537738/html/administrator/backups
And the back up was successfully made.
I now have a problem cloning the back up to my FTP server however. I think it is because I'm not sure what I should put under FTP Directory.. (I simple put in the same as the back up store path.... which i think is wrong. ie. /home/content/38/7537738/html/administrator/backups ??!)
It shows the following warning:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/38/7537738/html/wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/cloner.functions.php on line 682
FTP connection has failed!Attempted to connect to xxx.com for user xxx3113
Thanks again for any help on this!
Natasha
Try and follow this restore wiki, it might be easier to understand. Before using the Clone/Move functions, make sure you select a backup to clone first
