Hi,

the backup breaks up at a certain point. Here is the error message:

There was an error retrieving the JSON data from the server, try again or contact the developers!

Details: error -- undefined

JSON url: index2.php?option=com_cloner&task=refresh&json=1&startf=600&lines=4668&backup=backup_2011-07-16_15-47_blog.hiltmann.net-sql-nodrop.tar&excl_manual=

++++++++++++

Can you help me? What's wrong?

Thanks in advance

Uwe

The error you have is probably caused by a server timeout, this usually happens when XCloner tries to add a large file to the backup. To see which file is and if you can exclude it, simply open the administrator/backups/perm.txt file and check between lines 600 and 700. Also check the disk space available on your site, make sure you have enough to store a full backup.

Hi Ovidiu,

thanks for the quick reply, that's a great help.

I identified some .sql files from a former backup software which are up to 100 mb big in size.

One question: where can I set the timeout for the server? In the php.ini? Because maybe sometimes there are big files someone wants to back up.

Thanks in advance and best wishes

Uwe

P.S.: I've just had a look on the php.ini, there is an entry:

  max_execution_time = "9000"
Is that the time for the script?
Best wishes

Yes, that is usually the timeout for php scripts, however you should also check with your hosting provider to see what is the timeout for the apache server response.
