I copied all the information from mysql page, but I get this error when I click on start install:
"The database details provided are incorrect and/or empty. Unable to connect to mysql server"
I am looking at my mysql and copying all the information, just to make sure I am using the name of the database that I am overwriting correct?

Ok I got past that step, now I am getting a 'database was not imported!” error message.

You need to check that your backup archive files got extracted properly, do you see any files restored on your new location?
Check that, and if you used ftp option when restoring, make sure the ftp upload path was correct, if you are unsure of that, better use the "Install files directly" option.
Also make sure safe_mode is turned Off on your restore host!
Any other errors or info you might have from your hosting environment might help!

I wish the OP had shared how he got past the orginal problem. I have that exact same error, and no idea how to get past it. Error:
"The database details provided are incorrect and/or empty. Unable to connect to mysql server"
Any suggestions?

Hi Tom, that error indicates the mysql details you are providing to the restore script are incorrect, so try and recheck them, make sure you've created them on your new hosting account!

I appreciate the quick response. Problem is, I have copied and pasted the db details directly into the xcloner screen directly from the DB setup details. There is no typo, no extra empty spaces, no wrong cases, nothing incorrect. Nothing. And yet I get this error.
One question I had though; is it asking me for the login details to the old MySQL DB (I am migrating a site to a new host), or the new MySQL? I believe they are the same, but have no way to double check as the old hosting account is closed and the url is redirected to the new hosting account.

The mysql details required are from the new hosting account! Try rechecking them with your hosting provider, make sure also the mysql server name is correct, it might be different that the default localhost
