Hi all,
I’ve been continuing to attempt to get an offline
development setup for wordpress using wampserver. I’ve manually downloaded TAR.php, XCloner.php
and the backup.tar file to C:\wamp\www\clone
after googling a little removed the .htaccess
which was stopping the launch of the XCloner.php script.
backup.tar extracted to C:/wamp/www/clone
The XCloner.php install was good with the following options, Install
directoryC:/wamp/www/clone
- Install Url: localhost/clone
- Mysql server: localhost
- Mysql username: root
- Mysql password:
- Mysql database: clone_1
- Also …Skip
files restore = True
However, I must be missing something since I was expecting
to launch http://localhost/clone and go to
the cloned site locally hosted by the wampserver clone install redirects to
the backed-up actual live website (e.g. http://www.myhost.com).
I was expecting the options 1 and 2 above to have reset
things in the background what am I missing?
Thanks for help and pointers

From what i see in your restore options, the "Skip files restore" option was checked? If so, that might explain why the wp-config.php was not updated, so try first to open it and update the mysql details found there and then follow this tutorial http://codex.wordpre.....te_URL to change the Wordpress url, it should be pretty simple.
Hope it helps! Ovidiu
