1. I had made a demo wordpress site on a subdomain – lets say xxx.abcdef.com (DEMO SITE)

2. When the final site was ready, I decided to clone and transfer it to the main url on uvxyz.com using xcloner (MAIN SITE)

Although it showed some database error, the site was cloned on the latter domain as it should have been and I was quite happy…until yesterday when I deleted the demo site, and realized that the main site had been reading from the database available on the demo site all along, because it was now showing this: "errror establishing a database connection" When I logged in to the cPanel for the main site, I realized that there actually was no database at all..which confirmed what I had just concluded.

Now I had done a clean removal of wordpress and databases from the demo url, so there is nothing on that anymore. But on the main site, I have all the main site files, and even a 43 mb Xclober backup…but when I try to restore this backup it re-installs wordpress and shows a default new wordpress site. What do I do?

I also have an sql backup of the demo site's database on my computer…but it always gets stuck in errors when I try and restore it using xcloner.

Please help

Please follow the restore procedure as mentioned here /wiki/index.php?title=Restore_Backup#Restore_Backup_.E2.80.93_Manually , it should help! If you need urgent help, we can guide you through the Premium support system as well.

Thanks. I have already tried the manual procedure. It does't help mainly because of the sql problem. As mentioned I do have an sql backup of the demo site but it doesn't get imported even via the manual restore on the main site because of too many errors.

Could post here some of the mysql errors you are receiving? If they complain about duplicate content, simply use an empty database when doing the restore...

I think I'll take up a premium support subsription and take your help with it. Only problem is my paypal account is frozen and I cant make another paypal account because its against their ToS. Any other payment gateway to do it? Moneybookers or 2CO?

I think you can pay directly with your credit card without having a paypal account. Anyway, if you still have issue, send us an email here http://www.xcloner.c.....m/contact/ for alternative payment options.
