I am sure that I have previously used a backup to clone a website from one domain to another so that all the original posts and pages etc are maintained but on a new base url and linked to a new database. In this way a prebuilt site can be used as a template to save repeating work
I have just attempted this and discovered that this does nit work - the homepage of the site opens at the new url but all of the links to pages and categories reference the old url
When I look at the restored config file there have been some additions to the MYSQL settings that havent been there when using earlier versions of the plugin...
and old passwords ans databases have been maintained in addition to the new ones as well as a rellocate=true function - it is as though the process has not been completed
Obviously I can send a screenshot by pm for you to lookat, Ovi - but did not want to put details in open forum
By editing the config file and changing the olsdite url for the new one the problem seems to be fixed but I am sure I have never had to do this before
