Good day!
Forgive me if you think this issue has been already posted before but I couldn't find any time to look for the thread if there's any
as this is an urgent issue from our end.
Basically, we have a wordpress website http://imgdistributi.....o.uk/read/ that we have backed up with XCloner.
I was able to make a backup file with Drop Syntax and have loaded the file to the new server.
After we have restored the website using XCloner, here's the error I get:
"Error establishing a database connection"
I have also gotten this error in setting up the restore through WAMP.
The steps that I've done are:
- checked wp-config.php file. All new database details seems to be intact
- repaired all database tables via PhpMyAdmin
The only thing that I have noticed in checking the original database from the original server is that
its saying that the database is locked by an easyapp software. I'm not really sure if this has something to do
with the problem as I was able to backup and restore the database. In my humble guess, I think it
might have to do with a broken or corrupted database table, but still not sure.
Could anyone possible provide an information how could this be possible fixed?
I would greatly appreciate and help from anyone.
Thank you very much,
Kind Regards

Hi Ovidiu,
Thank you for your response.
I have successfully ran the restore including the database. My only concern is the error message im getting
even if the database details are correct.
I have already checked thoroughly the mysql for the new server, but still it would not work
I have tried the same process on both localhost(WAMP) and live server and it gives us an issue, I know the solution is pretty
straightforward by just making sure the mysql details are correctly set.
When I also go to the URL/wp-admin of the new server, its says that some of the database tables need to be repaired. So I tried running
and repairing tables, but after that it's still gives me the same error message
The original database from the server where we got the backup files seems to be locked down by an easyapp software? Im not sure if that makes sense or if it has something to do with the problem?
Many thanks in advance Ovidiu!
Kind Regards,
Mike
