Hello
I made backup of my wordpress site.
I have few interesting issues during those processes.
1. There sere some JSON errors that I resolved with clicking "retry" btton.
2. I made about 10-15 backups on the same site in diffrent times for testing, and almost everytime tha archive was with different size and different number of files in it. The question is following: How can I know if backup contains all files in the site? There is not any warning appear, that some files missing. Just info that there is one or another number of files in it and it is different, even without any change made on the site.
3. After few days of testing, suddenly today, backuping-compressing process starting to become 7-10x slower than before. Plus, from time to time during backup JSON error appears, and it been resolved with "retry". I don't know how much successfull was resolved.
4. I tried to find a way to restore to 2 hosting services. hostforweb.com and godaddy.com.
I can not find a way automaticly to restore in both cases, during error in finding FTP path for automaticly restoring.
I try to did it manually. There was no problem for me.
Also, I had problems with including data base in backup, so I excluded. I decided to upload manually. No problem.
To hostforweb.com was perfect. I opened root via browser, click on xcloner.php script and everything was almost fine. Except limit of space of my account. There was enough space to uncompress everything.
My main problem is GO daddy.
GO daddy dos not allowed to acess to my rooth via web browser. I do not have an idea how to reach xcloner script. Machine ansvers "forbidden" or You don't have permission to access /restore/xcloner.php. on this server. This is depends of what I type in adress bar. I contacted Godaddy support, and they have folloving anscevs

Thank you for your reply. I understand you need to un-archive a file on your hosting plan. This can be done by following the instructions below. You can run a script in your hosting by simply going to the address of the script or, for exampledomain.com/folder/script.file.
Second time:
Thank you for your inquiry. After reviewing your situation, please note that .tar files are a proprietary file format and not supported in our system. Please use a .zip or a .tar.gz file format. Additionally, please do not go to a specific URL address.
There is two different ansvers for sam issue. I still can not reach the xclone script thru web browser.
They suggested me to manually, from FTP file manager. uncompress backup, but, they support only tar.gz format. Not just tar. But, nowhere in the configuration of xcloner I found how to set format of compressed folder.
I am not much skilled in this. I just paid to one software company to develop the site for me, and after it shows that their charges for extra services are too expensive. There was the catch. I missed to discuss with them before. So I am looking for best way to become able backup my site by myself from time to time for security reasons, and to develope enough knowledge to restore or move my site from one hosting to another by myself.
I will be greatfull if you help me.
Best regards,
Valentino
To answer your godaddy issue, i would advise to keep the Compression option disabled, and if you still have timeout issues, to decrease the 'Files to process per session' in the XCloner Config System tab. Other than that, there isn't much XCloner can do if godaddy hosting is slow...
As far as i know, godaddy has a preview dns option in their cpanel which you can use to preview the site and so access the XCloner restore script from there...
Hope it helps!
