WP 3.1.1

Strange thing. All the plugins I had that were not activated are missing in the plugins/admin but still appear in the FTP/plugins dir. One that was activated is acting the same way. Not appearing in the admin but is in the FTP/plugins. I tried to delete the folder and upload a new one. But now I can't seem to change my FTP permissions. My old site had all the permissions but this new restore did something funny. I have the URL's in the general WP admin grayed out as well. (saw this on another post). I as well tried to just install from WP. It says its already installed.

Hi Douglas, it would be better to start the restore again, make sure when restoring, you an empty directory and mysql database.

Regarding permission issue, XCloner has a ftp restore mode which could help fixing the permissions, but if you like, simply extract the backup archive files manually or with a built in server tool, then restart the XCloner.php restore script with "skip files restore" option checked and see if it helps, might need to adjust  the wp-config.php settings manually after this step.

Regards, Ovidiu

This is exactly what we did.

So, you say the manual ftp restore should work? Does it matter what the permissions are on the tar or the other files before starting the restore?

Thank you.

Usually the default permissions from the ftp upload should work just fine! Ovidiu
