I can't restore the wordpress database...Unable to read the database backup file

I get the following error while doing a restore:
Unable to read the database backup file
/administrator/backups/database-sql.sql , database was not imported!
I'm not sure why, I had selected the database backup option and it makes it one huge .tar file.

Hi Tim, could you post here a screenshot after your restore screen?
Usually you get that error when the backup archive is not extracted properly, so if you like, you can extract the backup archive manually or with a server built in utility and then restart the restore process with the "skip files restore" option checked.
