My site seems to be unrecoverable by hostgator because I was exceeding their backup alotment of 20gb by making backups of backups to the tune of 64gb! I have been using xcloner and getting emails saying the site is backed up. Where does xcloner put my backup and can I use it to recover my data base content? Distressed

Avril, make sure, you are not including the backup folder in your backup. When I started witz XCloner I did --- and noticed my backups growing exponentially
To avoid including my older backups, I removed them from the "administrator/backups/" directory and saved them local on my computer.
Somewhen later I got the final solution:
After clicking "Generate Backup" a tab called "File Option" appears. Checking the correct check box let you exlude the "administrator" directory and its content (earlier backups).
