Hi,

I have just moved my local WordPress installation to a remote server with XCloner. The installation of the WordPress parts and of the database went fine. The only problem which I encounter are the links to the media in /uploads/. All still reference to localhost:8888 instead of the new url. 

Is it necessary to change the links manually?

Probably so if the links were hardocoded in the database, but i advise using a search and replace plugin to help you with this.
