Links to Pages / Posts not working after restore | Wordpress Support | Forum Archive

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help. I've managed to backup my wordpress site, and I'm in the process of cloning it into a VMWare UBUNTU test environment for testing and dev work.

I've managed to run the restore script, and the site is all there (I think) the database works. Only problem is that any pages/posts/links that WordPress generates on the fly don't seem to be working. I'm getting 404's for all my posts, and pages.  I performed a manual restore, as the virtual I'm using is sharing my IP. My index.php works - and I can login to the wp-admin bit, but that seems to be about it!

I'm not very familiar with linux, so I don't really know where to start.

Any help, really appreciated.
