It seems like I have everything set up correctly, but I'm getting the following error when trying to Generate a Backup.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\Inetpub\hospedajeoceano\oceanoWp\wp-content\plugins\xcloner-backup-and-restore\admin.cloner.php on line 25

I've already set Manual Backup to Yes.

Thanks,

John

On line 25 in admin.cloner.php there is this code

@set_time_limit("3600");

maybe try and remove it and see if it helps! Ovidiu

Okay.... I've tried this and now it seems to have backed up the data base:
Database backup:
oceanowp: Backup Completed ( 1.21 MB )
Initializing backup...
Backup D:/Inetpub/hospedajeoceano/oceanoWp/administrator/backups/backup_2011-06-07_07-22_www.hospedajeoceano.com-sql-nodrop.tar created, we may continue!
Please click here to continue! 0
But when I click to continue, I just get a loading "page=xcloner_show", 2 of 3 items, in the status bar of the browser and then after only a few seconds, a blank screen with the X Cloner menu on the left. I using Safari on a Mac, but have also tried Firefox with the same result.
Thanks,
John

Can you tell me what php version is your server running? You might need to upgrade to at least 5.2.3 to make use of the AJAX refresh mode(XCloner Config, System tab) which will help with the server timeout issue.

Post also a screenshot from your XCloner Config-> Info tab if possible.

5.2.13, I believe. I also talked to support with the host provider and they seem to think it is a, time out, which they are unable to re-set, other than globally on a shared server… they have suggested resetting it in PHP:

http://php.net/manua.....-limit.php

I don't see a way to attach a screen shot and when I try to insert it as an image/upload it I get this error:

'config.jpg' cannot be queued for upload as the size exceeds the maximum limit of 51200 bytes

The upload feature should work now, thanks for letting me know on the upload size limit.

Regarding execution limit, i am afraid there isn't much i can do there if you are not able to switch to AJAX mode which requires php 5.2.3

My suggestion, try and create a database only backup by excluding all files, and then a files only backup by excluding the database and see how it goes!

Ovidiu,
This was the last from our provider... do you see any way around this? If not I'll try to seperate the backups as suggested. Maybe in my case it better to skip the plugins and just do it all manually. I've tried a couple of the better known plugins with more or less the same results.

Thank you for your reply.  From the looks of things, this issue is most likely due to the exectuation timeout that is set on the server.  The developer has suggested setting that to 3 mintues for larger sites, but that is not a possiblity on a shared hosting server.  He states that the plugin requires PHP 5.2.3 or higher and the server is running 5.2.13, so that is not an issue.  As I have stated this is on a shared server so we cannot increase that timeout to what the developer suggests.

Thanks,

John

Unfortunatelly i am out of suggestions, but my opinion, you should consider a better hosting service...

Cheers, Ovidiu
