Hi there, first thank you so much for this plugin and your support. All I need is a little guidance on whether I am doing this right. Here's my sequence of steps:
1. Add domain to the new server and point DNS there
2. Install Wordpress via fantastico on new server (does it matter if I use a different mysql user name/password than I did on the old server?)
3. Create clone dir and install last backup plus TAR.php and XCloner.php
4. Before the DNS kicks in I can run the cloner script using the correct path on the new server (this works fine for me)
5. Insert my new mysql username and pw, my sql server = localhost
6. Click the Start Install button
When I do this I get the error message: "The database details provided are incorrect and/or empty. Unable to connect to mysql server"
Before I go and check my login details, can you just verify that what I am doing is correct?
The steps you are doing are correct, the error message you are getting there are related to the mysql details you are providing, you might need to recheck them, please note, on a cpanel system , the mysql user gets prefixed with the cpanel username.
As a note on step 2., XCloner does not need wordpress to be installed, so you can skip this step and create instead only an empty database, can be named in any way.
