OfflineI used XCloner to move my testing site from my local computer to the live host and soon discovered that all the images had been embedded as absolute links and were therefore pointing back to my local computer.
It took me about 3 days to find and the links and fix them. Nothing I do with Wordpress works simply. It is a really horrid program.
Now I have another site which is in a testing folder on a live site. I was planning to use XCloner to move it into the root directory. But I assume I will have the same trouble with absolute links. Is there any way to set it so that the links change to relative links or change their location automatically? This second site has hundreds of images!
I am not looking forward to the move ....
This is a common issue with wordpress as it uses absolute paths to images when inserting them in the content, i would advise looking for a search and replace plugin that could simply help you with that, like this one http://wordpress.org.....d-replace/
