Used XCloner on another site (different hosting company) with no problem. However, when I attempt to use it on my second site, I'm getting some strange behavior:

I install the plugin and go to XCloner to login. I enter admin/admin. Once logged in, the very top of the page says "Welcome to XCloner Backend" as you would expect, but it still shows the login form below. If I attempt to go to any other part of XCloner, it prompts me to log in again.

I've tried changing the password using the cloner.config file -- the new password is accepted but still displays only the login form.

Any ideas?

Best,

Hi Eric, the issue you have is most probably related to the sessions on the server, try and contact your hosting support to look into that. What happens is that when a login session is created, a temporary file gets created on the hosting server, and if it happens that the file is deleted, then the session will not exist anymore and so neither the authentificated area access.

From my experience, one of the factors that could influence the session file delete is the disk space on the server.

Let me know if you have further issues! Ovidiu

Thanks much for the reply! However, I'm a little confused - what should I be asking my hosting company to look at?

Best,

They need to check your site php.ini config, and more specifc the sessions.save_path path value, they need to check that path exists and is writeable!
