Tar file password?

Hello all,

Just trying out the plugin, generated a manual backup and downloaded it (approx. 1.5 GB, and finished successfully according to Xcloner). Trying to open the TAR file in Peazip and it asks for a password. I don't recall any spot to indicate a password for the TAR file in the configuration steps for the backup, I've tried every password possibly associated with my Wordpress DB, accounts, etc., as well as the password I use for Xcloner, and... nada. Basically the TAR file is totally unusable.

Is there something I'm missing here in terms of the password protection on the TAR?

Thanks,

-joe

Hi Joe, try opening the archive with another client, like 7zip and see how it goes, XCloner does not password protect the archives...

Thanks. Tried a few different clients and each one says it's an invalid archive. So it is asking for a pwd because the archive is somehow marked as invalid. This happens on all of the backups I try to generate.

Weird, in the view backups screen, do the backups have different size? or are they topped to a certain value?

They do have slightly different sizes reported:

1489.44 MB in XCloner and 1561.79 via FTP

If you like, feel free to open a support ticket and send me the site access details to have a look at the backup process… unforutnately i have no idea what might be causing the issue.
