I sucessfully made a backup of the Wordpress installation.

It shows up as a backup on the new Wordpress installation but I cannot get it to restore. I've tried following the directions but if I try to clone it to get the XClone.php I get a Forbidden error page for the file index2.php.

I've tried to manually transfer the files as it says from "administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/restore/" but that directory doesn't seem to exist.

I've tried running xcloner.php but that doesn't seem to work either.

Any ideas or anyone want to trade some free graphic work to help me out?

Thanks!

Hi Kyle! For wordpress, the restore script is located in wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/restore , both files.

See if that helps, the forbidden error there when trying to transfer the files might be a local server limitation.

Got that part! But after running the script and doing the restore, the site still shows up as a plain vanilla installation with no entries or anything else. Not sure what went wrong. It said it was sucessful.

I loaded in and activated any of the plugins and themes that I used.

Also, looking at the script restore page, it says that the file I want to restore from has 0.00M of information. The file on the server has 1.5M

Well, I managed to get the installation back up the old fashioned way. Installed everything and used the import function as I had managed to export all the posts before changing servers.

I am going to try this again on another installation I have to see if I can get it working because I do like the functinality of this software.

Thanks for your help!

I would suggest using an empty directory and empty database when doing the restore, and also watch out for the disk space available both on the original site when doing the backup, as well as the restore location.

1.5MB for a full wordpress backup file is way too small! Ovidiu
