Hello.

I tried to test XCloner on my WordPress blog wxx.myweb.com/blog

After installing Xcloner, changind its admin password as indicated, I generated a backup.

Then I tried to clone my blog in another place (same localhost, different folder): wxx.myweb.com/blogcopy

I use the CLONE button, typed there the following:

Website Url: hxxp://wxx.myweb.com/blogcopy

Ftp hostname: http://ftp.myweb.com

Ftpusername: myweb

Ftp password: mypassword

Ftp directory: public_html/blogcopy

I checked INCREMENTAL.

The page goes blank then some miliseconds further it appears a message saying ”Moving done, starting the Clone process on the remote host click here to continue...” I clicked.

It is shown then the XCloner Automatic Restore page, and I can see the folowing fields already filled with some details:

 1. Install directory: /home/myweb/public_html/blogcopy/

2.Install Url: hxxp://wxx.myweb.com/blogcopy

3. Choose backup - it appears the backup

NEW MYSQL CONFIGURATION tab is green, the IMPORT MYSQL DATABASE is green, INCREMENTAL SUPPORT is green.

The following fields are shown:

Mysql server: localhost (filled automatically)

Mysql username:

Mysql password:

Mysql database:

Data encoding: Default

My question would be: What do I have to type in the MYSQL username, password and database?

Should I type the details for my blogcopy, because I do created a NEW database, a new user with all privileges, added the user to the database via Cpanel, set a password for the created user.

If I do type those details, then I get this message:

The database details provided are incorrect and/or empty. Unable to connect to mysql server.

This happends on two different servers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I had to edit the http and www links with hxxp and wxx because I got a warning message after I first post that there are too many links.

I mentioned every step and wrote all details in order to show you that i can not use XCloner. I did not misstyped any password or username.

Yes, the mysql details you need to input are the ones you've created on your new hosting account.

Hope it helps! Ovidiu

Thank you for your reply.

My problem was solved:

the Mysql server with ”localhost” automatically filled was incorrect, because in my case, that was ”sql.myweb.com”

Mysql username: the username I created for the new database

Mysql password: the password for the username created above

Mysql database: the name of the new database.

P.S. Would there be a Romanian translation for XCloner? I've noticed you're from Romania. If it is not available, would you accept a Romanian translation from me? I would be happy to do it.

Thank you again.

I would definatelly accept a Romanian translation, or any other language not available yet in the package!

Mersi 🙂 Ovidiu

I have two more questions:

- Do you wish a Romanian translation with or without diacritics?

- Do you wish a polite Romanian translation like (Va rugam sa selectati... / Selectati...) or a more direct one like ”Selecteaza...”

Also I want to ask if the Hungarian translation is being made by someone, because I can provide that too.

Without discritics should be fine, and probably polite transalation would be best.

And no, there is nobody working on a Hungarian translation as far as I know! Thanks again, Ovidiu
