Hi there,

I successfully used XCloner to move a site from my old hosting company dreamhost to namecheap.

The site appears to be working fine but when I try to use xcloner to create a backup of the newly hosted site I get page with the following text (the background looks like the basic template framework for the site but with no content)

'OEPS, YOU'VE DONE SOMETHING WRONG HERE'

Page not found try searching below

Thinking this might have been a permissions error with the clone of the site I have deleted the plugin and re-installed but no change.

I have also tried backing up without the mysql data in the backup with the same results.

The package worked flawlessly on the dreamhost hosted site and I am too much of a newbie at this to know what the differences could be.

Any help or pointers in the direction to start troubleshooting this would be gratefully accepted Smile

Thanks

Rob

I don't know what that error message means but I can tell you that I could not get off of Namecheap fast enough. I've found that cut rate, rock bottom priced hosting services are poorly run. Their idea of security is to lock down so many features that professional services offer as to make them impossible to work with. For example, I would think that they detect a process running on the server and are shutting it down.

You can waste a LOT of time trying to figure this out. I'd change hosts.

For anyone else suffering from this / similar problem, I managed to get it resolved by raising a ticket with namecheap technical support, who got resolved the issue in under two hours, via email!

Their actual response:
---------------------------
Unfortunately, the 403 error message has been generated during the backup creation from our end. It has been caused by ModSecurity.

We installed a Mod_Security for increasing the security of our servers. It is an Apache module which works as a web application firewall. It blocks known exploits and provides protection from a range of attacks against web applications. Its activity may cause such issues from time to time when requests sent to the server match with mod_sec rules. Sometimes such requests are false-positive.

The necessary rule has been whitelisted for your hosting account. After it, the backup has been generated successfully in about 30 seconds.
---------------------------

All I had to do was ask and they provided a working solution super quick.

Kudos to namecheap technical support!!
