First of all I think that this could be an awesome program. I am about to start transering to a Dedicated Server and this could save me many hours of headaches…
I am trying to backup and restore a wordpress blog + data bases to a new server. When I check the cron table I receive the following errors.. I am sure it is something simple I am missing. I have read the Manual Twice and Googled to no avaiile
When I click on the MYSQL tab it tells me that it is unable to
Unable to select database kjbarret_bid4fishing
I am using localhost as the path way which should be able to connect to the database and I know the DB, user name and passwords are correct
When I test the cron tab I get the following error messages
Could not connect: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Unable to select database joomla16

LL DONE! I will exit now from cron.
It appears to be a problem with Joomla which I did not think was required for a WordPress Application... Is this something that needs to be adjusted in the config for Xcloner.... I am only using this for WordPress.
Thank you for your assistance…
The mysql error you have there seems to be related to the XCloner Config->Mysql tab config details, i would advise rechecking them, and also, if you are using a separate config file, you need to update that also!
Regarding the path error, you need to create this folder Joomla_1.6.0/administrator/backups and make it writeable
if you still have issues, send us please a screenshot from your XCloner Config->Info tab

Thanks for the prompt reply... I do not have Joomla installed on the website? Do I need to have that installed. As I have never needed it.
I have tried to install this but there is a conflict as I already have the WordPress index.php on that directory. Plus it wants me to take the administrator folder off to that directory also.
Following are the screen shots.
This was a clean install to my wordpress Version 3.0.1
I did some more trials I was able to back up and I then tried to manually restore. all the files are on the new website and when I try to access the XCloner.php the browser brings up a Page Not Found
http://www.bid4hunti.....Cloner.php
all of the permission are set properly....
here is the Index of the directory http://www.bid4hunti.....shing.com/
which all seems correct.
Any suggestions at this point to activate the restore.
I will uninstall XCloner for Wordpress and download a new one and go through the install again.
Thanks Ovidiu, your responses are very timely.
I am impressed.
I have made a clean install in the WordPress Blog. Manually attempted the restore using the Tar.php, XCloner.php, and backup file in the same folder mydomain.com/clone/XCloner.php and a page not found comes up.... not sure why. The folders have full write access permissions.
To clearify the XCloner.php is not opening up to the Restore Panel.
I will search for that error on the forum....
Thank you.
Well I have been able to make a manual transfer. It appears that all of the files are there, however, when I open the transfered blog, I get a new generic blog. Also I recreated a data base on the new server... and it appears that the SQL has transferred over o.k. I also am seeing a new wordpress Blog DB which I assume is populating the new generic Blog....
I want to make sure this is transferred over ok before pointing the domain to the new server....
The Blog should look like this http://www.bid4fishing.com
the same Blog on the new server looks like this http://www.bid4hunti.....ishing.com
The folder that I transferred this to was http://www.bid4hunti.....hing.com
I used ftp transfer rather than a direct transfer of files.
And the Restore went through with no errors.... I just cannot view the restored blog on the new server.
Thank you for your help.
I have just looked at the wp-config.php file and it is structured like this for the DB
Maybe this can shed some light on this I am familiar with php but by no means an expert.
