Hi all,

I am a new user to xcloner and love it so far. I apologize if this has been posted, but I couldnt find anything after searching around on the forums for a while.

The only questions/concern I have is the folder permissions on the Backup Store Path. Currently I have Xcloner set using a remote FTP account storing to a remote location. Here is where my concern lies though: The backup only works when the folder permissions on the remote server are set to 777, even when change to 775 I get the error "Your backup directory "my/path/here" is not writeable or does not exists(Backup Store Path:)!" .

Is there any settings which I change change through xcloner to allow this to store? I have verified the FTP account settings that I entered for that site is correct. That account is also the owner of that folder.

So, Is there something I am doing wrong in this situation or is this just the behavior of xcloner? Thanks in advance for any help!

Regards

-Jordan

The Backup Store Path needs to be writeable in order for xcloner to make the backup first and put it there before it starts the ftp transfer, there is no other way around it....

Hm I think I misunderstood what the Backup Store Path was. I originally thought that this was the path on the remote server, but I now am thinking its the local path where the backup is saved to? So once the backup is complete it FTPs the backup on the local to my FTP settings defined in the 'Cron' tab? Sorry for all the questions.

No, all paths defined in XCloner are local, unless ftp is specified in which case the paths are remote. Once the backup is complete, it's being stored in the Backup Store Path, and afterwards transfered to the remove ftp server as defined in Cron settings.
