Hi,

I checked around here for similar problems. and I did find that creating a fresh database with NO data eliminated the conflicts I was getting initially with the restore. The problem now is that it simply fails to import, and no specific reason is gven. I just get a "server error" without any helpful info.

I have tried importing the database manually using phpmyadmin. The problem is WordPress does not recognize this "new" database. I try to login using the previous WordPress login and password, and it does not work. I am checking on the WordPress forum as well for answers.

I just wanted to know if there is any obvious issue I am missing with the import.

Thanks

The size of the SQL database is about 5,000kb uncompressed. I have tried importing the database as an uncompressed SQL through phpmyadmin and it fails.

If I zip the database and import it, the import succeeds.

Xcloner stores the database in the TAR file but it is not compressed. Am I hitting the 2,000kb SQL size limit because XCloner is not compressing the database?

The import issue is not from the database, it's simply a memory limit from your server which can be increased by your hosting provider, if you try to import it by using the XCloner restore procedure, do you get any issues?

The database fails to import when using the XCloner procedure.

Make sure the skip files restore option is left unchecked, otherwise your database backup archive won't extract the database backup to import....
