Hi,

 

I've created a backup fine on one sever and I'm trying to restore it on another server. I've selected the "Add Drop Syntax" as the table already exists on the new server. This is verified by the file name containing "drop" in the name and doubly verified by having a look at the sql and seeing the IF TABLE EXISTS DROP lines. When I'm going through the sql restore I constantly get table already exists.  I've check the user permissions and they are ok. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Clark! Could you open the administrator/backups/database-sql.sql file from inside the database, does it contain the drop table syntax for each table?

Yes every table has the DROP table IF EXISTS before it.

Ok, then i would advise checking that the mysql user you used for import has rights to drop the existing tables, if not, better use an empty database when doing the restore.
