I have been trying for days to work out why when I try to restore a wordpress backup onto localhost I get a 403 access forbidden error.

There are numerous posts on the internet about this issue but none of the remedies I have tried work.

But first I need to get to the bottom of why, when I try  to login to localhost/xxxxx/XCloner.php (which results in the above error message), the CONTENT of the XCloner.php file has vanished in a puff of smoke resulting in a zero file size. This issue is probably related to the 403 problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.
