Yes! Success! Restoration of files and database all fully restored. Very smooth! I'm impressed with that, great progress troubleshooting the problems guys!
Now, seeing this is a Beta and under development, here is some feedback:
- I noticed the section "Authentification" in Administration>Configuration. Would you rename this to "Authentication" instead, that's the correct term for it.
- Why store the SQL-database inside the TAR-file? It required me to install an unzip tool to be able to unzip the sql-file to be able to do a database restore. I believe the sql-file was stored outside the TAR-file in previous version?
Xcloner seems to wipe the competition right off the board! Great stuff!
Glad to hear this Marcus, thanks again for testing it!
And yes, i will go ahead and rename the Authentication area, thanks for the highlights.
The SQL file is stored inside the archive as it's being used at restore, if you need to get only a database only backup, simply exclude all files when generating it, putting the SQL file outside the backup archive would probably not server well the full backup idea.
Hope it helps! Ovidiu

Thanks, it's a privilege to be able to test it and see the progress made.
In my restoration of the database tests, I actually did exclude all of the files and that worked nicely.
Just my two cents. Xcloner works great as it is, certainly much better than the previous version. Thanks guys!
EDIT: Removed the question about getting Xcloner to restore the SQL-database from inside the TAR-file automatically. I now see that the database file is restored automatically without me having to manually extract it from the TAR-file. Fully automatic! Beautiful!
