Hi,

i just discovered xcloner.

Before using it to move a website to another server, i am trying it out on a local server (xammp). I am trying the manual way to move  the website (i like to keep things in hand 🙂  ).

So i moved the backup-file, the xcloner-php and the tar-php to a new local server (lptest). When i try to start the xcloner php i get an error message:

(i am using firefox): firefox cannot find the file on c:/xammp/htdocs/lptest/".$rurl."

Can you explain what i doing wrong?

Kind regards

FreddyEmbarassed

Could you attach a screenshot with the error? Make sure php scripts are enabled and can be run on your localhost server.

From the look of that message, the XCloner.php is not being interpreted by the server(if you try and view the source of that page, you will get mostly the php/html code of XCLoner), try and recheck that php scripts can run inside that folder and that they have right permissions.

I may look dull, but i cannot figure out how i should check this: i looked in the properties of that folder ande everything seems quite normal to me.Embarassed

May i also assume that from your answer i can conclude that all of this will normally work on a "real" server?

Freddy, yes, it will work :), as i indicated previously, the XCloner.php script is not being interpreted as a php script, and the issue is unfortunatelly related to the local server install.

Cheers, Ovidiu

Hi,

for the moment i am doing the real move using the manual way.

Tar-file, tar.php and XCloner.php are on the right location.

After starting the XCloner.php i have the impression the script is "hanging": I see the "Xcloner automatic resore"-banner and that's all..

I'm waiting for the moment more than half an hour.

Is this normal?

kind regards

Freddy

Hi Freddy, is the restore script hanging when opening it or when hitting the restore Submit button?

Can you tell us what options you have selected when restoring? A screenshot would help! Ovidiu
